VISION AND PURPOSE

Our school community epitomises our motto, “Learning Together, Making a Difference”. Staff, students, parents / carers and interagency support personnel work together and learn from each other, as together we endeavour to ensure the best possible education for our children. The staff value the wealth of experiences that our students have from home, and focus on the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy that has been identified as our priority by the school community. Through the implementation of the Essential Learnings model, learning is organised around real-life and life-like experiences so as to foster life-long learners.

The case scenario for our students is that 90% of them will be employed in the future in jobs that have not yet been created and, as such, we regard the teaching of thinking, listening and communicating to be of paramount importance.

We also acknowledge that building and maintaining positive relationships with our students, parents and carers is an absolute necessity and that, through cooperative planning in cohort groups, we can effectively and accountably integrate curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting.

We provide high quality education that assists all children to: -

  • develop a love of lifelong learning
  • equip children with the attributes, knowledge and skills that enable them to effectively participate in the 'community' now and in the future
  • develop children’s judgement and sense of responsibility
  • understand the past and prepare them to embrace the future
